Infusion Center

DOCCS Outpatient Infusion Center is designed to provide a comfortable, quiet and patient-focused environment for those receiving infusions and antibiotic therapy. The comfortable recliners, artwork, and  flat-screen TV help the treatment time pass pleasantly as patients enjoy their favorite programming, a good book or personal handcraft. DOCCS mission is to improve patient access to intravenous and injectable medications at your convince.  We work with a diverse population of patients, such as:

  • Individuals taking medications for pain management
  • Patients requiring intravenous antibiotics
  • Other patients who require intravenous treatments, but are not hospitalized

What is an infusion?

An infusion is a standard procedure that delivers a fluid (medication or solution) into a patient’s bloodstream. The fluid flows from a sterile bag through plastic tubing and a small needle into one of the person’s veins and into the bloodstream. Inserting a small needle into a vein is called the “intravenous” (IV) method. The process of IV infusion is a common and effective way of administering a medication over a specific period of time (for example, over a few hours). Getting an infusion feels a little like having blood drawn out of a vein in your arm, except instead, you’re having fluid put into your body.
