Ultrasounds on Site

Ultrasound or ultrasonography is a medical imaging technique that uses high frequency sound waves and their echoes. The technique is similar to the echolocation used by bats, whales and dolphins, as well as SONAR used by submarines. Maybe you’re having problems with blood circulation in a limb or your heart, and you need a Doppler Ultrasound to look at the blood flow. Ultrasound has been a popular medical imaging technique for many years. DOCCS offers Ultrasounds on thyroid, breast, testicular, prostate, extremities, abdomen, pelvis, echocardiography, vascular and cerebrovascular.

X-Rays

You’ve probably had an X-ray examination of some part of your body. Here at DOCCS we use them to look for broken bones, problems in your lungs and abdomen, and many other problems. For example, mammograms use X-rays to look for tumors or suspicious areas in the breasts.

X-ray technology uses electromagnetic radiation to make images. The image is recorded on a film, called a radiograph. The parts of your body appear light or dark due to the different rates that your tissues absorb the X-rays. Calcium in bones absorbs X-rays the most, so bones look white on the radiograph. Fat and other soft tissues absorb less, and look gray. Air absorbs least, so lungs look black.

X-ray examination is painless, fast and easy. The amount of radiation exposure you receive during an X-ray examination is small. You can walk-in to DOCCS anytime for an X-Ray. If you think you have broken a bone or are really sick give us a call.
